DESIGNED™
Every classroom is designed.
Design it on purpose.
DesignED grew from the literacy classroom. From the routines students could count on, the writing they returned to, the materials they knew how to use, the conversations that became possible, and the small decisions that quietly shaped learning every day.
This is not a collection of activities. It is an examination of what happens when beliefs become conditions, conditions become systems, and those systems begin shaping what students experience.
INSIDE THE CLASSROOM
INSIDE THE CLASSROOM
Sometimes you know something worked before you know why.
A student writes who would not write before. A classroom begins to run without constant direction. Something you built is working.

EVIDENCE
A WAY OF SEEING
You know when something works.
But do you know why it worked?
The question DesignED asks is:
What did you build that made that change possible?
WHAT DID THE EVIDENCE TELL YOU?
Evidence is what proves any of it actually worked.
Not a test score alone, but a student holding two pieces of their own writing, months apart, and recognizing themselves in the distance between them.
WHAT DID YOU BELIEVE?
Beliefs are what you decide is true about children before you ever meet them.
Beliefs are easy to state and hard to prove.
WHAT DID YOU BUILD?
Conditions are what you build once, before students ever arrive.
Systems are what put those facts to work.
THE DESIGNED CLASSROOM
A way of seeing.
Talent matters. But talent alone leaves too much of a child’s education up to chance.
Ten classroom systems. One intentional progression.
Be the first to know when it is available.
The Designed Classroom is becoming a book.
